We’re excited to announce that Snowball Effect's online investment platform, which enables Kiwis to invest in high-growth companies, is expanding its offering to provide investors with access to professionally managed funds that have previously been difficult to access.
As part of our mission to become the one-stop platform for retail and wholesale investors seeking alternative and private investment opportunities, Snowball Effect is opening up access to funds that include a mix of private equity, private credit and long-short equity funds. These asset classes play an important role in a well-constructed investment portfolio, providing the potential for enhanced returns, increased diversification, and combatting volatility that is inherent in the stock market.
Our co-founder and Managing Director of Snowball Effect, Simeon Burnett (right), says: “Having a well-diversified investment portfolio is critical to growing wealth; however, accessing the optimal set of assets to diversify an investment portfolio properly can be very difficult in New Zealand.”
These types of funds are an important and sometimes large part of an investor's portfolio, but they are often only available to institutional investors or high-net-worth investors, and they require high minimum investment levels.

Snowball Effect has also relaunched its platform with an updated layout and branding. It is now a simplified all-in-one platform where investors can access top-tier funds without the complex paperwork typically required when investing directly with individual funds. In addition, investors will be able to continue investing in private equity investment opportunities, track portfolio performance easily, and soon set up regular investment plans.
